Meet the newest Barilla Classic cuts in bulk for foodservice professionals! Mezzi Rigatoni and Ditalini. Mezzi Rigatoni — literally “half rigatoni” – brings the heartiness of traditional Rigatoni in a smaller size. Its thick tube is made for full-flavored sauces. The larger diameter and ridge allows for a better retention of sauces on all surfaces. It pairs well with chunky meat-based or vegetable-based sauces, refined dairy-based sauces, tomato sauces and spicy sauces. Also ideal for baked pasta dishes with cheese-based sauces.

Ditalini translates to “little thimbles,” a reference to the diminutive tube shape Ditalini pasta is most typically used in Southern Italian cooking, and in particular the Campania region of Italy, where it graces Pasta e Fagioli, minestrone and other classic soups – or even a simple bowl of plain broth. While used most often in soups, ditalini is surprisingly versatile and works well in pasta salads, kids-menu dishes or mac and cheese.
